MerLion Research offers many natural product samples to third parties to undertake their own testing. These include crude and fractionated (semi-purified) extracts. Samples can be supplied arrayed within screening plates or as otherwise specified by the customer.
Additional quantities of natural product samples can be supplied to customers for them to undertake follow-up work or else this can be performed at MerLion as a service (See Natural Product Chemistry)
- Core Diversity Sets. These are unfractionated extracts arranged into sets which are representative of the broad diversity of the MerLion collection
- Plants. 20,998 extracts
- Actinomycetes. 27,879 extracts
- Fungi. 31,873 extracts
- Eubacteria. 6,720 extracts
- Robustness Set. This is a small set of 1,560 diverse extracts and growth media blanks used primarily for validating assays for high-thoughput screening of natural product samples
- Prefractionated Set. Approximately 50,000 samples are available as a pre-fractionated set consisting of a cross-section of extracts which have been fractionated by reversed phase HPLC and enriched for mid-polarity secondary metabolites
- Additional sets. Further extract samples may be supplied, dependent on availability.
